— Peter Hayden Dinklage ( born June 11, 1969) is an American actor and producer. Dinklage studied acting at Bennington College, starring in a number of amateur stage productions. His film debut was in Living in Oblivion (1995) and his breakthrough came with the comedy-drama The Station Agent (2003). He has since appeared in Elf (2003), Find Me Guilty (2006), Underdog (2007), Death at a Funeral (2007), Penelope (2008), The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008), X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), Pixels (2015), and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017), which earned him his first Screen Actors Guild Award. In 2018, he appeared as Eitri in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Avengers: Infinity War after appearing as Vikings and Hervé Villechaize in the biopic film My Dinner with Hervé. — Since shooting the pilot episode in 2010, Dinklage has portrayed Tyrion Lannister on the HBO television series Game of Thrones, for which he won three Primetime Emmys from seven nominations. He also received a Golden Globe for the role in 2011.

    Peter Dinklage started off his career in the year 1995 with the film ‘Oblivion’. In the film, he played an actor who was frustrated at being offered only clichéd roles because he happened to be a dwarf. He delivered his break-out performance as an actor in the film ‘The Station Agent’. He received a number of awards for his role as well as worldwide recognition.

  • 2008 In 2008, he played the role of a grumpy dwarf named Trumpkin in the sequel of the popular fantasy film series ‘The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian’. Many of the critics condemned him for playing the very stereotypical role that he has always boasted of avoiding.

    His big break in television came in the year 2011 when he was selected to play Tyrion Lannister in the medieval-fantasy drama series ‘Game of Thrones’, which is based on George R. R. Martin’s novel series, ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’. People began to love and praise his character so much that his screen time was increased and with the start of the second season of the series, he was given the honor of top billing. His performance also brought along a shower of prestigious awards for him.

    In 2014, Dinklage appeared in ‘Knights of Baddassdom’, which was a comedy-horror film. He also played the role of Boliver Trask in the movie ‘X-Men – Days of the future past’.

In 2003 he won ‘Online Award for Breakthrough Performance’ at the New York Film Critics’ Awards for ‘The Station Master’. The same performance got him ‘Best Actor’ at the Ourense Independent Film Festival. In 2011, his performance in ‘Game of Thrones’ won him ‘Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series’ at Primetime Emmy Awards. He also bagged the ‘Best Supporting Actor – Series, Miniseries or Television Film’ at Satellite Awards and he was presented with the ‘Scream Award for Best Supporting Actor’. His ‘Game of Thrones’ glory continued in 2012, when he won the Golden Globe Awards for ‘Best Supporting Actor – Series, Miniseries or Television Film’. He was also awarded with the ‘Empire Hero Award’ by the Empire Magazine in 2015. In the same year he also bagged the Primetime Emmy Award for ‘Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series’.

Dinklage is married to Erica Schmidt, who is a theater director, since 2005. In 2011, they were blessed with a daughter.

He was one of the members in a rock band called Whizzy. While his band was performing at CBGB, he met with an accident that left him with a nasty scar that runs from his eyebrow to his neck.
